| BUSINESS CHALLENGE
The role of the Administrators and Assistants has long since changed from what it used to be. You are expected to manage yourself and others, liaise with departments and other organisations, have generalist knowledge of your organisation, budgeting and compliance issues and manage your boss accordingly.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Executive assistants, personal assistants, administration coordinators and office managers – anyone involved either full time or part time in professional administrative roles, in any industry.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of this programme, it is expected you will have the tools to be able to:

- Organise and document different types of meetings in accordance with organisational procedures

- Plan, budget, organise and review events such as conferences, visiting delegations, organisational and social activities to meet organisational objectives
- Manage business travel arrangements
- Conduct a personal skills audit and identify areas for self-development
- Use a profiling tool to identify your work preferences, how they affect others, and how to work with people who have different preferences
- Develop your communication, assertion and negotiation skills
- Negotiate workload priorities and deadlines
- Explore your motivational needs and career options.
Aspects of this programme count towards the National Diploma in Business Administration (Level 5):
- Unit Standard 21862 "Demonstrate knowledge of management administrative services".
- Unit Standard 21863 "Provide and evaluate management administrative services".
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
This programme is practical and interactive. It uses group activities, discussion, a profiling tool and exercises designed to encourage participation and development of the relevant tools and techniques for effective administrative work.
